Victor Felix Dosch, 96, of Margate City, NJ, died at AtlantiCare Regional Medical Center, Mainland Campus, on November 7, 2024.

Born August 1, 1928, in Ziebach, SD, he grew up on a farm in Eagle Butte, SD. He graduated from the South Dakota School of Mines and Technology in Rapid City, SD, with a degree in electronic engineering, and worked at the Naval Air Development Center in Johnsville, PA, while serving as a first lieutenant in the Navy, then as a civilian, where he modified the largest analog computer at the time (Typhoon) to operate the first human centrifuge for the original seven astronauts and the X-15 pilots, including Neil Armstrong. There, he met his wife, Rosemary Hanahoe Dosch, who worked as a mathematician.

They moved to Margate, NJ, in 1962, when he began his career at the National Aviation Facilities Experimental Center (NAFEC), now the FAA Technical Center, where he retired in 1983 as Chief of the Airports Branch. He had private pilot’s license and belonged to the FAA Flying Club.

After retiring, Victor taught one year at Embry-Riddle Aeronautical University Prescott Campus and in 1990-91 served as business manager for the St. Bonaventure Indian Mission in Thoreau, NM.

Victor was a member of The Knights of Columbus, American Legion, and served as a Lector and Eucharistic Minister at Blessed Sacrament Church for many years.

Survivors include three of his five children, Anne Marie (Jim) Ward, Patricia Hanahoe-Dosch, and Fr. Michael Dosch, O.P., three grandchildren, Christopher (Nicole) Flynn, Mary Pap, and Gwendolyn Ward, along with two great-grandchildren, Theo Janton and Thomas Flynn.

Victor was preceded in death by his wife, Rosemary Hanahoe Dosch, his daughter, Kathleen Flynn, and his son, David Dosch.

The funeral Mass is 11:00 Saturday, November 16, with viewing at 10:00.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Holy Trinity Parish or the Longport American Legion for their Wounded Warrior Fund.
